By road
Lefkada can be visited by driving a car. A floating bridge of continuous flow connects island of Lefkada with land (Sterea AETOLOAKARNANIA /Acarnania). Travel time has been significantly reduced thanks to three major projects in the wider area. The ‘Preveza-Aktio’ submarine tunnel in combination with the road ‘Egnatia Odos’, make access to the Ionian Sea faster and safer from NW Greece. The ‘Rio-Antirio’ bridge access to the island from the rest of Greece. KTEL buses run daily from / to: Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Igoumenitsa, Preveza (www.ktel-lefkadas.gr).

By air
From April to October there are direct flights to / from Aktio from various European destinations. An air connection of the Ionian Islands is carried out.
By boat
There are frequent itineraries during the summer from / to Italy (Ancona, Bari, Brindisi, Trieste) -Patra-Igoumenitsa-Corfu.
